USHERS

Actors Theatre has a 800+ strong Volunteer Usher Corps, but we’re always looking for new faces! Our ushers work on teams based on availability or preference and most teams usher about once a month.

Requirements include arriving 1 hour before and staying 15 minutes after play performances, the ability to stand for 30 minutes at a time and an enthusiasm for theatre.

Perks include discount parking in our secure garage, discounts on play tickets and other events and, of course, seeing the plays free when you usher.

Actors Theatre Usher Orientation and Training
Saturday, January 30, 10 a.m. - noon
Monday, February 1, 6 - 8 p.m.
In addition to seeing all the shows for free, volunteer ushers receive discounts on tickets, parking and Actors Theatre merchandise. To begin ushering, attendance at one of the above training sessions is required but RSVP is not required. At training, we go over usher duties, do a tour of the theatre spaces and assign teams based on availability and/or preference. The usher uniform consists of a plain white shirt and either black or navy pants (or skirt) and sturdy, comfortable shoes (no flip-flops).
